It is not the job title that confirms if you need a licence, its the
work that you do that may be a licensable activity.
You need a Security licence if you provide and / or carry out contracted
security activities as follows:
* Guarding premises against unauthorised access or occupation, against
outbreaks of disorder or against damage;
* Guarding property against destruction or damage, against being stolen
or against being otherwise dishonestly taken or obtained;
* Guarding one or more individuals against assault or against injuries
that might be suffered in consequence of the unlawful conduct of others.
Anyone involved in security guarding needs a licence. This includes
employees, managers, supervisors and directors of security companies.
There are also 2 types of licence, front-line and non front-line.
Frontline would be for the staff carrying out the licensable activities
and non front-line would be for managers or supervisors.
You may find that a door supervisors licence is required for your staff.
The Door Supervisors frontline licence does also cover Security work.
